Is There A Solution?

This was the initial e-mail I sent in regard to the Christmas schedule because no one was saying anthing.

Ok, I was waiting for someone to say “haha! just kidding, you dont have to go to work the day before/after Christmas” I can clearly see that’s not happening. I have NEVER worked the day before or after in my life, I can’t even picture the thoughtless jerk that would expect anyone but a 7 eleven employee too.

I think we all feel the same way…I think its extremely rude that NO ONE (meaning management) even bothered to ask anyone what they were doing for the holiday, after all it is Christmas, a holiday that pretty much the whole world spends with family, its not Martin Luther King Day! Do they not realize that pretty much everyones Christmas plans are ruined because of this? Does anyone care? Why do we all work are ASSES off around here to be treated with such disregard?

I want an answer and if I need to ask Teresa, let me know. I’m certainly not trying to be out of line, but this is out of line. How do we explain this to our children?

  1. Good on you. Here comes the big “however…” that will likely to combine a spark with an igniter. Having spent most of my life in jobs that required me to work through the holidays, it’s somewhat insulting to hear about a 7-11 employee talked about as disposable. Your attitude toward them is exactly the one you don’t like expressed toward you by mgt. I hope you do not patronize any businesses for 2 weeks during the holidays as you are then being the same “boss” to the lowly employees that are required to work. It’s also assumptive that everyone cherishes these days as you and have family they cannot wait to see. Many of us do not.

  2. I was not insinuating that the whole world has family and has a place to be, that’s sort of silly of you to think that in that I was specifically speaking of my workplace setting wherein I knew everyones plans.

I meant no disrespect in my 7 11 comment, in that I only meant that it is a well known fact that 7 11’s are always open no matter if it’s a holiday or not. I certainly didn’t mean that I was above them or that they didn’t deserve a break too, they do…
