Years later I sit alone
Shaded by the willow trees
Pondering on the fun we could have had but didnt;
You acted as if being poor were an incurable disease
Opposed to a potentially temporary state
You never understood fun didn’t have to equal money
I think it was just an excuse to deny us
Not that you were materialistic
How could you be with your severe lack of ambition?
