Ike Turner Dies at 76

As People.com reported, Ike Turner, the legendary musician and former husband of Tina Turner, has died at 76.

“He did pass away this morning” at his home near San Diego, said Scott M. Hanover of Thrill Entertainment Group, which managed Turner’s career, according to the Associated Press.

Ike Turner was born and raised in Clarksdale, Miss., it’s said that Turner was inspired by the old blues artists and embarked on a musical career of his own in the late 1940s. He later met Anna Mae Bullock, aka Tina Turner, who would become his wife and his musical partner for many years until their tumultuos split.

I couldn’t possibly care less that poor old Ike died and I know Tina doesn’t but maybe you do which is why I’m posting this article. To some he may be a “legendary musician” but to me he was just a selfish, abusive druggie who happened to be able to make music - good for him. I read in an article that he admitted to being abusive with Tina and that if he could apologize to anyone, it would be to her. I’m sure she may of appreciated that if it hadn’t took 30 years to get it.

Anyway, 30 years or not, he at least acknowlegded that he fucked up so I’ll say RIP in hopes he’ll come back a little less of an asshole his next time around
