Dear Xayne :(
Oh, my poor little sweetie! I’m sure you wont remember, but you are grounded this night, June 25, 2007. I feel so bad but you were running all over the place with Ethan like a wild zoo animal where I could not see you. I clearly explained the rules and even had you repeat them back to me so I could know that you heard me. I do not like, and I will not have you running all over the complex where I cannot see you. I understand your argument “the other kids get to”, I do, however that is because their mothers are not that concerned about them, but you are you, and I am your mother and I do care. Some of those children run all over the place and as you know, one of thier mothers came looking for them, several times, after 10 at night. This to me, and I’m sure 90% of the population, is completely unacceptable for a 5 year old. Being grounded to your room for one day is hardly punishment opposed to what could happen to one of these little kids running around with zero supervision for hours.
Like I just told you, (a) do not be mad at anyone for this, you are grounded because you did not listen, and (b) I love you and I need to make you understand this is not proper or safe behavior.
I love you son and I look forward to you being able to play outside day after tomorrow.
