!!!Get A Brain!!!

I am watching the news and the reporter just reported that there was an accident where a man was reaching for his phone and lost control of his SUV running into a family killing an 8 year old and putting his mother and two sisters in the hospital in critical condition.

He went on to explain that in an effort to try and lessen these things from happening they had passed a law that was going to go into effect in 2008 that stated you couldn’t talk on a cell phone unless you have an ear piece. I nearly choked on what I was eating! Are you serious, get real, people are dieing not because ones focus is on “holding a cell phone” it’s because people are focused on their conversation and not on driving.

I always say that the major problem with this world is the lack of personal responsibility. Everything is always someone elses fault. I just realized tonight society also holds that idea or at least implys such. What I can’t believe even further is that the president and senate went along with this, no one was smart enough to say “hey, isn’t the real problem that when people are talking on a cell phone, whether they are talking on a cell regularly or with an earpiece they are simply not focused on the most important task at hand which is driving?”.

In my opinion it should be illegal to talk on a cell phone while driving. Simply stated, I couldn’t imagine having to live the rest of my life knowing I killed someone because I was talking on my cell phone, more than likely engaged in a hardly meaningful conversation.

Save a life, pull over if you have to make a phone call.
