Dear Xayne

It’s October 30th, the day before Halloween, almost 6 p.m.

I’m sure it doesn’t surprise you at all that we’ve waited until the last minute to get your costume. We’ll be going in just a bit. I just know that whatever we get you will look terrific. You’ve changed your mind several times, but I think you’ve finally settled on Batman. I chuckle because I know we’re not at the store yet.

Daddy and I were so proud of you on Friday, Student of the Month! Did you see me beaming with pride from the audience :) I’m going to hang your award up just as soon as I get a frame. That line makes me think of Dr. Phil, he would say don’t try, do, so I’ll get a frame.

Although I tell you all the time how proud of you I am, I just can’t express it to the depth that I actually feel, it brings me to tears.

Thank you for being such a wonderful boy. You are sweet, considerate, and helpful. I am extremely proud to be your mother.

Loving you always,

Mommy

Serial Killer Executed in Florida

I’m sure alot of you are aware that Danny Harold Rolling, Florida’s most notorious serial killer since Ted Bundy, was executed by injection today for butchering five college students in a ghastly string of slayings that terrorized Gainesville in 1990.

I’m always shocked at the opinion of those who are against the death penalty, especially in a matter such as this one. Imagine for a second, just a tiny second, that you walk in and see your very own daughters lifeless body sitting upright in a chair, and her head is on the shelf next to her a few feet away. Have you pictured it in your mind? Can you get past the fact that her head is disconnected from her body? Can you even imagine that happening to you?

With this now in mind, can you honestly tell me that you wouldn’t want to see the person responsible for doing this die? This is a yes or no question.

Your daughters life is over and yet his should continue? He may be in prison, but life goes on.

One in that position might say their life is over because they’ve lost their freedom, but what does that compare to life?

Dear Xayne

Oh my baby! You started kindergarten last month, September 5, 2006. Just one month later you are getting a Student of the Month award. Daddy and I are so proud of you we can barely contain ourselves, I guess all the huggies and kissies give that away.

We can’t wait for the ceremony on Friday, thank goodness we have a camera! You’ve received 12 Happy Grams for good behavior, more than anyone in the class; you are well aware how proud we are, everyone at the school, even the children, have noted your good behavior and friendly attitude, congratulations baby!

Well, I must be getting you ready for bed, it’s almost 8:30.

I love you!!!!

Something To Think About

A mother asked President Bush,

“Why did my son have to die in Iraq ?”

Another mother asked President Kennedy,

“Why did my son have to die in Viet Nam?”

Another mother asked President Truman,

“Why did my son have to die in Korea?

Another mother asked President F.D. Roosevelt,

“Why did my son have to die at Iwo Jima ?”

Another mother asked President W. Wilson,

“Why did my son have to die on the battlefield of France ?”

Yet another mother asked President Lincoln,

“Why did my son have to die at Gettysburg ?”

And yet another mother asked President G. Washington,

“Why did my son have to die near Valley Forge? “Then long, long ago, a
mother asked…

“Heavenly Father, why did my Son have to die on a cross outside of
Jerusalem?”

The answers to all these are similar –

“So that others may have life and dwell in peace, happiness and
freedom.”

This was emailed to me with no author and I thought the magnitude and the simplicity were awesome.

Love to All

The Egg

One day was cooking an egg
It jumped out of pan and clung to my leg
Saying not a place to be in such heat
Time I was off, beating a hasty retreat

It slid right off my trousers to the floor
Well to be honest I don’t wish to be a bore
But I don’t want this egg to stay there
Becoming dangerous if I don’t take care

So take a cloth to clean up mess
Lots of water spread with success
Now all is clean, so start again
Maybe something easier like a bowl of grain.

A Word To The Wise

I thought this was wonderful and had to post it!

A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer’s showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted. As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car.

Finally, on the morning of his graduation, his father called him into his private study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box. Curious, but somewhat Disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible, with the young man’s name embossed in gold. Angrily, he raised his voice to his father and said, “With all your money you give me a Bible? and stormed out of the house, leaving the Bible.

Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business. He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care of things.

When he arrived at his father’s house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart. He began to search through his father’s important papers and saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. His father had carefully underlined a verse,

Matt 7:11, “And if ye, being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Heavenly father which is in heaven, give to those who ask Him?”

As he read those words, a car key dropped from the back of the Bible. It had a tag with the dealer’s name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words…PAID IN FULL.

How many times do we miss God’s blessings because they are not packaged as we expected? I trust you enjoyed this. Pass it on to others. Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; but remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for…

IF YOUR GIFT IS NOT PACKED THE WAY YOU WANT IT, IT’S BECAUSE IT IS BETTER PACKED THAT WAY! ALWAYS APPRECIATE LITTLE THINGS; THEY USUALLY LEAD YOU TO ATTACHMENTS!

Don’t Smell the Perfume

Warning to All Girls…Must Read
Just thought I would share…..

This is something that happened to us on the way back from vacation last spring. I didn’t think much of it until now. The reason we were a little
suspicious is we had been riding in a jeep all day with 100 degrees temps and we stopped at a truck stop for something to drink.

When I was leaving, a young girl followed me out and asked what kind of cologne I was wearing. Well, after 7 hours in the car sweating, I don’t
think you could tell I was or was not wearing any cologne. We just got in the jeep and said no thanks.

Then it was about 3 weeks ago, I was at a service station in Brampton getting gas. It was about 9:30 pm. I was approached by 2 men and 2 women in a car. The man that was driving asked me ‘What kind of perfume do you wear?’ I was a bit confused and I asked him ‘Why?’ He said, ‘We are selling some name brand perfumes, at cheap prices.’ I said I had no money.

He then reached out of the car and handed me paper that was laminated;
it had perfume on it. I looked quickly at it and gave it back. I said, I have no money. He said it is OK, we take check, cash,or credit cards.
Then the people in the car began to laugh.

I just got in my car and said no thanks. Then I received this e-mail yesterday and it sent chills up my spine. Please read this. It is no joke.

Here is the e-mail I was sent

Dear Friends:

I know not all of you are women that I am sending this to, but am hoping you will share this with your wives, daughters, mothers, sisters, etc.
Our world seems to be getting crazier by the day. Pipe bombs in mailboxes and sickos in parking lots with perfume. Be careful. I was approached
yesterday afternoon around 5:30 PM in the Walmart parking lot by two males asking what kind of perfume I was wearing. Then they asked if I’d
li! ke to sample some fabulous scent they were willing to sell me at a very reasonable rate. I probably would have agreed had I not received
an e-mail warning of a “Wanna smell this neat perfume?” scam.

The men continued to stand between parked cars, I guess to wait for someone else to hit on. I stopped a lady going towards them, pointing at them and told her about how I was sent an e-mail at work about someone walking up to you at the malls or in parking lots and asking you to SNIFF PERFUME that they are selling at a cheap price.

THIS IS NOT PERFUME…IT IS ETHER!

When you sniff it, you’ll pass out. They’ll take your wallet, your valuables and heaven knows what else. If it were not for this e-mail, I probably would have sniffed the ‘perfume’ but thanks to the generosity of an e-mailing friend, I was spared whatever might have happened to me. I wanted to do the same for you.

PLEASE PASS THIS ALONG TO ALL YOUR WOMEN FRIENDS AND PLEASE BE ALERT
AND BE AWARE.

Are You Laughing?

In light of the many perversions and jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke, it’s not funny, it’s intended to get you thinking.

Billy Graham’s daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her “How could God let something like this happen?” (regarding the attacks on Sept. 11).

Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said, “I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we’ve been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives.

And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?”

In light of recent events…terrorists attack, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O’Hare (she was murdered, her body found recently) complained she didn’t want prayer in our schools, and we said OK.

Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school, the Bible says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn’t spank our children when they misbehave because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock’s son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he’s talking about. And we said OK.

Now we’re asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don’t know right from wrong, and why it doesn’t bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with “WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.”

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world’s going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says.

Funny how you can send ‘jokes’ through e-mail and they spread like wildfire but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing.

Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Are you laughing?
