We awake to the standard alarm clock;

Going through the motions, you get us ready and send us off with careless good-byes;

We enjoy a day at school, always saddened at the end,

By the thought of having to come home, to the home void of love.

What can we look forward to tonight mother?

Going through the motions, we enjoy another silent dinner.

GOOD NIGHT MOTHER! I LOVE YOU! I shout only in my head;

As you plant your careless kisses and tuck me into bed.

Tomorrow, like today, like everyday before that,

We’ll go through the motions.
