Just A Guest of the Situation
Crying, screaming, shattering of glass;
What is this insanity I ask?
Can I choose to “play” or “pass”
In this unchosen task
Why did he cheat on his wife?
Why do I have to be the messenger?
I didn’t choose this life,
Why can’t he tell her?
Oh dear Lord, clearly you can see
I am just a guest of the situation,
In the wrong place at the wrong time,
This is not my creation,
This is not my crime.
Yet now I know true deceit,
I can no longer vie as just the “guest of the situation”
Because now, out on the street,
It’s said I’m locked up for guilt by association.
